Living In The Valley Of The Dolls
I am a huge fan of the campy Valley of the Dolls. The 1966 novel by Jacqueline Susann is one of my favorite trashy reads. I also love the 1967 movie starring Barbara Parkins, Sharon Tate & Patty Duke. The dolls in the title refer to drugs for those that have never read the book or seen the movie. I highly recommend both. The story deals with these three younger women as they pursue love and their careers. Each of them become dependent in some form or fashion on drugs. The story is full of a lot of ups and downs. It’s definitely a camp classic. I’m sure some of you have bound to have seen it, right?
